TMJ/TMD Therapy
The Temporomandibular Joint is the joint of the jaw. It allows your jaw to open and close and move side to side. Occasionally there will be an issue with this joint that requires treatment. We can evaluate your concerns and proceed with the best treatment options for you.
Preventative Care including Sealants
We like to be able to monitor the health of your teeth and mouth. Regular dental exams and prophylaxis allow us to do this and inform you of ways to maintain or improve your oral health.
We may recommend that sealants be placed on your teeth. Dental sealants act as a barrier to prevent cavities. They are a resin material usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (premolars and molars) where decay occurs most often. Thorough brushing and flossing help remove food particles and plaque from smooth surfaces of teeth. Often, toothbrush bristles cannot reach to the depth of the depressions and grooves to clean. Sealants protect these vulnerable areas by "sealing out" plaque and food.
Orthodontics
If you are interested in any amount of straightening for your teeth, Dr. Raben can evaluate your smile and discuss with you possible options for treatment. This could include treatment completed in our office or a referral to an orthodontist.
Restorative Care
Chipped, discolored or decayed teeth may be restored using a procedure called composite bonding. A dental composite material has the look of enamel and is sculpted, shaped and contoured to blend invisibly with the remainder of the natural tooth. It is then hardened with a high-intensitiy light.
Crowns & Bridges
A dental crown is a restoration that covers all or part of your tooth. A crown restores the tooth to its natural shape and size and helps support and strengthen the tooth.
A dental bridge literally bridges the gap created by one or more missing teeth. It is made up of two or more crowns on the teeth with a pontic (false tooth) inbetween.
